چکیده

We derive an upper limit of 3 mJy (95% conÐdence) for the Ñux density at 317 MHz of the Geminga pulsar (J0633]1746). Our results are based on 7 hours of fast-sampled VLA data, which we averaged synchronously with the pulse period using a period model based on CGRO/EGRET gamma-ray data. Our limit accounts for the fact that this pulsar is most likely subject to interstellar scintillations on a timescale much shorter than our observing span. Our Bayesian method is quite general and can be applied to calculate the Ñuxes of other scintillated sources. We also present a Bayesian technique for calculating the Ñux in a pulsed signal of unknown width and phase. Comparing our upper limit of 3 mJy with the quoted Ñux density of Geminga at 102 MHz, we calculate a lower limit to its spectral index of a B 2.7 [F(l) P l~a]. We discuss some possible reasons for GemingaÏs weakness at radio wavelengths, and the likelihood that many of the unidentiÐed EGRET sources are also radio-quiet or radio-weak Geminga-like pulsars. Upper Limits on the Continuum Emission from Geminga at 74 and 326 MHz.

We report a search for radio continuum emission from the gamma-ray pulsar Geminga. We have used the VLA to image the location of the optical counterpart of Geminga at 74 and 326 MHz. We detect no radio counterpart. We derive upper limits to the pulse-averaged flux density of Geminga, taking diffractive scintillation into account. We find that diffractive scintillation is probably quenched at 74...

Xmm-newton Sets the Record Straight: No X-ray Emission Detected from Psr J0631+1036

The pulsar PSR J0631+1036 was discovered during a radio search of Einstein X-ray source error circles. A detection of a 288ms sinusoidal modulation in the ASCA lightcurve, the same period as the radio pulsar, appeared to confirm the association of the X-ray source and the pulsar. Its X-ray spectrum was said to be similar to that of middle aged γ-ray pulsars such as Geminga. However, an XMM-Newt...

Search for TeV Emission from Geminga by VERITAS

The Geminga gamma ray source was first detected by SAS-2 and COS-B, and has been identified as a radio-quiet pulsar associated with a 300,000 year old supernova remnant. Geminga is one of the brightest GeV sources and was also detected by Milagro at energies greater than 20 TeV. During 2007 VERITAS performed observations to search for TeV gamma ray emission from the Geminga pulsar and the regio...

The next Geminga: Search for Radio and X-ray Pulsations from the Neutron Star Identified with 3eg J1835+5918

We report unsuccessful searches for pulsations from the neutron star RX J1836.2+5925 identified with the EGRET source 3EG J1835+5918. A 24-hr observation with the NRAO Green Bank Telescope at 820 MHz placed an upper limit on flux density of 17 μJy for P & 10 ms, and gradually increasing limits for 1 . P . 10 ms. The equivalent luminosity is lower than that of any known pulsar with the possible ...
